Let's celebrate... With Pie! Contest Announcement

Good morning, good afternoon, and good night!
We’re halfway through our Kickstarter campaign and Pi(e) day is coming up! We have been so overjoyed about the support that we have received from all of you and our communities across all platforms over the last couple of weeks. From shoutouts on TikTok to all of our new Discord friends, we want to say to all of you: welcome to the Third Pie Family!

Speaking of pie… Pi Day is right around the corner (Monday, March 14th) and we have decided to celebrate with a Pie Contest! Bake a pie, draw a pie, 3D model, or crochet – the medium and flavor are yours to choose; we just want PIE! To participate, find the corresponding post on your favourite social platform, share the post and follow us, and get to work on your pie. When you are ready to post it, be sure to tag your work with #thirdpieday2022 so we can find it! We will choose three winners based on creativity who will receive one of these three prizes:

• Big Time Cutie Pack: An adorable 3D-Printed Piggy Keychain, a Sleepy Duck Enamel Pin, three times the Texture Packs, Unicorns, Steam Keys, and Piggy Backer Statues, and: everything else from the "Builder Pack". ($300 value!)
  
• Builder Pack: the Exclusive Human Cottage Texture Pack and the Exclusive Elven Hill Texture Pack, an invite to an Exclusive Discord Channel with our developers, a "Founder" Discord Title, plus everything from the "Unicorn Pack". ($90 value)

Kitori Academy

Kitori Academy is a cozy life simulator where you take the role of a wizard apprentice and have a cat as a companion! As a soon-to-be wizard, you decide how to spend your days and what magical skills you want to train each day (like botanic, spell-casting, potion-making, and so on). Make new friends as other apprentices live at the academy, and meet humans but also unique creatures. Take your time to relax and explore Kitori Academy; you might stumble upon one or two secrets~ This Kickstarter will only be live for the next 19 hours! Rising Spire

Rising Spire is a story-driven turn-based RPG deeply inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Play as Atlas, a young Nephilim tasked with putting a stop to the demons of the past. Atlas must learn to master multiple weapons and wield the divine powers of his lineage in order to survive. Explore unique lands, build bonds with unlikely allies, solve puzzles, and defeat powerful entities to uncover the secrets of the past and stop the world from destroying itself. Switch Stretch Goal Announced

We're about to hit our $50k stretch goal for Customizable Building Colors sooner than expected!We heard from so many of you that you wanted Switch so we moved the stretch goal for Switch up to $80k. Once hit, we will be bringing your charming villages to the comfort of your couch. 

One of the reasons we brought our project for Kickstarter is to connect with the community and hear their desires. This is a prime example of listening to you, the community. To celebrate, here's a little dancy dance. 

Oh! And we have one more awesome stretch goal on the way to Switch: Trading Animals (now at $65k)! Once reached, you’ll be able to trade animals with other real players. Looking for that rare pigmented pig? Trade your resources with other real players or the NPC village to have him hop around your barn!

In every update, we also want to take a moment to thank you, the community, for pledging your support and attention to our game. We are overjoyed to see so many people are interested in playing our game. We are only in week two, and there’s so much room to grow and make this one of the best village sim games out there. That’s only possible because of you, and from the bottom of our hearts: thank you.

What is a Village Story Generator?

Our second stretch goal is within sight! Woohoo! Choose your pledge now, or invite your friends to pledge so you can play together. We have SO many cool mechanics planned for this game, so let’s continue to make it better and better! (together ❤️)

A "village story generator”? What is that?

Inspired by games like Stardew Valley, Rimworld, and Settlers of Catan, the genre and player perspective of Ages of Cataria can sometimes be hard to pin down. Here’s what we mean when we describe Ages of Cataria as a village story generator:

•  Village: like your favourite town-building games, you will collect resources – like wood, stone, metal, food, etc. – and you’ll use those resources to build buildings. You can then level up those buildings to get better at collecting resources.
•  Story: as settlers in the mysterious world of Cataria, your villagers will 1) have complex personalities, 2) experience life events, and 3) discover mysteries from legend (à la Gravity Falls).
•  Generator: you design it all. Decide what resources your villagers should collect, customize your village to your aesthetic, and help your villagers make choices that could alter their fates.

We are so excited to continue to add things that will make your game customizable and unique every time you start a new village. Please share our project with your favorite people so we can make this game the best it can be!... Some backers in our Discord server are already speculating about what else we might add to the game… 👀

What goes great with Ages of Cataria? GigaSword and Worldbreakers

GigaSword is an action-puzzle metroidvania in which you wield a massive sword with massive weight. You can’t take the GigaSword everywhere with you, so you’ll need to figure out how to manage your way around this 2D retro-inspired world and get your sword back to attack enemies. The demo for GigaSword is available now, and their Kickstarter is only live for TWO MORE DAYS! Get this brilliant game now before it blows up!

Worldbreakers: Advent of the Khanate is a two-player card game set in an alternate 13th-century Asia. Woohoo! We have hit our first stretch goal: Prop Making! We are so excited to be able to add this to game and make everyones' villages that much more personalized. Soo what's next?

Second Stretch Goal: Customizable Building Colors!

We're all about customizing your charming village, but there's a big difference between an Addams Family charm and a Candyland charm. With customizable building colors, choose from predetermined color combos, or make the combinations totally your own!

Third Stretch Goal: Trade Animals

Can't find that rare animal you've been dreaming of? Want to fill your village with turtle ducks? Trying to collect one of every type of dog? With this stretch goal, you'll be able to use the trading feature to give and receive animals from other player villages or the NPC village.

Hi, everyone! Nicole here from Third Pie Studios. How amazing is it that we get to make our first update about becoming fully funded in only 9.5 hours?! 🥳🥳🥳

Thank you to everyone of you for making this possible! This turn out was far better than we even imagined, and we're already at over 150% of our goal now, just 24 hours after launch. We still have a whole 29 days left of this campaign to go, so please continue to share this project so we can expand the vision for Ages of Cataria!

Stretch Goals

Now that we have crossed the threshold at our $10,000 benchmark, we get to put a super satisfying stamp on our board, and we can build toward our Stretch Goals! Some are on the hush hush for now...

First Stretch Goal: Prop Making

Sit down, relax, and craft various items and decorations to place around your village as you see fit. You will be able to choose from a variety of prop "recipes" and find more as you play. And we are less than $10,000 away from implementing it!

Second Stretch Goal: More Building Colors

With More Building Colors, all the buildings in your village will start with multiple colors to choose from. This will add to the additional customization options for your town.
